Signs Of A Pandemic
Scars of Melbourne Lockdown - Photo Essay

Images taken in October 2020, after Melbourne endured one of the worlds toughest covid lockdowns, and one day before businesses and offices were allowed to open again to full capacity.

As restrictions eased, the city existed in a limbo of sorts, with the harshest restrictions lifted (i.e. being able to travel more than 5km from home) but most business and collective pastimes were not yet allowed back to full capacity. We walked through the CBD in this strange window of time, on the very last day, between the toughest lockdown laws ending and the eve of the CBD being 'open' again.

Signs of this strange time, and of the lockdown more broadly were everywhere - like scars (permanently?) etched into the city landscape.
